Geez, this winter is going by so fast. I was just thinking about going to bed after having caught up all my shows tonight and thought “When was the last time I posted…like Monday right?” Dang it.

–Went to Milwaukee Public Museum for our annual Valentine’s trip. A butterfly landed on Morella’s nose twice and I even got a picture of the second one! Neeners was very excited to go on the trip and lasted about an hour and half before complaining of hunger and went to the closed cafe to snack on what I had brought. Our plan this year was to leave in the afternoon so that no one would be there — mission accomplished! We had the place to ourselves and it was so very awesome. I am a little sad that next year we have to go on a Monday when Morella doesn’t have school — and after that? Sigh — weekend crowds suck. BUT the girls will be older by then and hopefully the whole thing will be more interesting to them. Morella this time was excited about seeing each new thing — except the European Village, Rain Forest and Dinosaur’s because they were all dimly lit exhibits. I visited the gift shop and got a few things to add to the “busy bag” for the mammoth flight we are about to embark on and some coconut curry chocolate for Tim.

–Had a Valentine’s dinner with brother in law Mark and Erica, and nephew Auggie (holy cow can that kid eat…I have never, ever seen a child eat so much in one sitting) at Stir Crazy. It was one huge warehouse with tables and was busy — and on Tuesdays and Thursdays kids eat free! So bonus for us since we had three kids and there was plenty left over from the meal for our lunches today. It was the second year in a row we visited with Mark and Erica. I think it’s a worthwhile tradition. :)

–On the way home we got the girls their (should it be annual?) My Little Pony. Morella was thrilled about getting a present and insisted we not tell her about it at all until later because she wanted to be surprised and “essighted”

–Had a lunch play date at Lazy Jane’s with a fellow Mom and similarly aged girl kids. It was a good time and we plan on repeating it…though maybe not at Lazy Jane’s…they have gotten lazy with their kids section.

–Took Morella out on Sunday for a massive shopping trip and lunch at Cafe Zuzu when Tim and Neeners were napping. We went to 9 different stores and looked and looked and looked. I got a few things for the trip and a Peacock gel window decoration. It was fabulous to go out and about with just Morella — I can’t believe how much stamina the girl has for shopping. She just kept going and going and going and never once asked for anything. She just wanted to look. I even got to look in Anthropologie and she tip toed exaggeratedly which was hilarious.

–Saturday we stayed in because Neeners had a case of the barfs, which I got from a playdate on Thursday making Valentine’s. They made like 3 out of all that work, but luckily I had other things that I had been collecting for the past month that could count as handmade valentine’s.

–Friday, watched Soren. Neeners barfed after dinner. It was a slow day.

–Uh…what else… oh I have been battling thrush. I know, I know, Neeners is 2 1/2 — but dude, that isn’t THAT old in the scale of things and I wanted to hold onto it for the India trip. I need an ace in the hole to calm her down and make her sleep and that will do it. She has shown no interest in slowing down, though I had been cutting her down dramatically from the pain. I thought for some reason, that she had just changed her nursing style and was biting and put up with that crap for like 3 weeks before it got bad and things started cracking and UGH! The first time I went through this she was 4 months and I was vigilant. I got lazy. I didn’t think it would happen again. For the record she only nurses at bedtime for 5-10 minutes and then in the morning when the sun is up for about the same. She has even started missing a session here and there and we only do it when she asks.

So yeah, it is getting better, though I had no idea cracks take that long to heal. Sheesh.

–My Almost-Step Mom sent me a board game the other day — Walking Dead. I am thinking of maybe having a little dinner party or something where I can get some people to play with us. Whose in? It was so nice getting the package in the mail.

–Speaking of mail, we got our visas! We are all set to go. T-minus 10 days.

–Neeners is fussing. I have been in there three times. Once she wanted milk. The second time she said it was nothing, just a bad dream and now…I wonder if it is the same. Has her night terrors started? Gotta go!
